Just because someone has a mental illness doesn't mean that person will do something heinous. As referenced in the article, it seems mental illness definitely needs to be looked at on a case-by-case basis. It seems that mental illness can strike anyone. It is just a matter of diagnosing it properly before violent acts happen. The suspected shooter may or may not be mentally ill. He may have had all of his faculties. According to media reports, this shooting appeared to be planned. Either way, it's a sad case. It’s insightful.
