He has a right to confidentiality also, and the right to choose how much he wants to reveal about his personal life. He has his reasons for keeping his diagnosis confidential, and it's not our place to question that or force the issue. The truth is, there is still a lot of stigma out there about mental illness, and he's already struggling with his image - remaking it - and he doesn't need any other complications. I think he is doing a service by speaking up against the stigma of mental illness and getting therapy, whatever the reasons. His diagnosis is his business, and it isn't necessary or important for us to know. It's enough to know he is honest about his issues and that he is getting the help he needs. He's setting a good example for all of us.

Why do you have to know what his diagnosis is? Isn't it enough that he's putting himself out there to share some of his experience and promote counseling? Just respect what he's doing, and since you're not actually his therapist, don't worry about the official diagnosis. Also, isn't this blog about taking away the stigma of the mental health field, and part of the stigma is attached to labels and diagnoses...so by demanding his diagnosis, you're pushing to stigmatize Artest. Not cool.
