		<description>Thanks so much for posting this and -- so crucially -- for highlighting the complicated history the LGBT community has with the mental health institution.  For all the reasons you said, health care pros are in an extremely powerful position to demonstrate support, kindness, and subtle intuition to tap into both common and specific needs LGBT folks.  Family stuff seems especially complicated, as even LGBT youth who find themselves in so-called &quot;tolerant&quot; families may still experience severe anxiety due to their sexual orientation/gender identity and have emotional needs that remain unmet.</description>
